Approve Free Listing

Is there a way to approve a free listing? Currently, if I add a 0.00 listing it requires an approval. I want to just have it listed. Is this possible?

Thanks again,
Sean

Re: Approve Free Listing

I want to just have it listed. Is this possible?  Not really, you could do it by modifying mtree.php for when the confirm button is processed, but this is not recommended or supported.

If you just publish free listings then you are a very trusting person, because once the script kiddies find you site and realise the listings don't need admin approval, then your site will fill with all sorts of crap.

The PP process however, gives you as Admin a snapshot of the listing so you can decide if it is appropriate content for your site.  The process is this:

When a user adds a free listing there are two things that happens

1. They add the listing, this adds all the details into MTree but does not publish it. Then redirects the user to My Listing Management.

2. In My Listing Management the listing should now appear with a Confirm button. The user needs to click confirm and complete the resulting form. The completion of this form creates the entry into the PaymentsPlus system by creating the listing subscription. My Listing Management will then update to Status = Pending Admin Approval

Once the Confirm process is complete, Adim then must approve the listing/subscription from Manage Subscriptions in PaymentsPlus. You can quickly find it by filtering for Offline Pending.

Re: Approve Free Listing

How about a way to credit their account with a free listing? that way, they know up front that they have the free listings to use?

Re: Approve Free Listing

I think your question is more of a feature request rather than a support issue.  Currently during the Add Listing process however, the user is shown a summary of their listings of that listing type after the "Add a XXX Listing Here" link is selected.

The summary table is shown on this page rather than the previous page to:
A.: Minimise the database querry
B.: Keep the page as short as possible and not so confusing. You need to take into account that some users may have multiple Listing Types and Products to show them all with the counts at the "Add a XXX Listing Here" might be overwhelming.

I'm currently looking at an invoice function for users that will also show a summary of available listing types & products. But this won't be available till the next major release.
