PaymentsPlus was originally designed to use PayPal Standard only and is currently set up to use Website Payments Standard and 2 Checkout, my preference personally is PayPal as I use it in all my commercial websites. 

Payment Gateways like Authorise Net and PayPal Pro are only available to US Merchants who have a US based bank account, I am based in Australia. I made a decision a long time ago to only include gateways that are internationally accepted that way they benefit everybody rather than just a few. In the development phase I must be able to do live testing and gateways that are country specific makes this impossible to do.

Adding new payment systems is NOT as simple as adding the systems api. It actually requires a major changes to several files in PaymentsPlus as well as adding new database entries. To give you an idea of what's involved it took over 8 weeks full time to do the 2Checkout integration with research, development, testing and manual updates.

After that comes the problem of supporting it, support is very hard to offer when you don't use that system personally.
